#FridayFavorite: Scandinavian Welcome Light

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of October! Where has it gone? The nights are getting longer and the temps are getting colder. Winter is on its way, which is hard to believe! Wisconsin Winters are no joke. Lots of snow, sub-zero temps and very dark days. I wanted to share one of my new favorite items to help light up your house and welcome visitors during the darkest of days…. a Scandinavian welcome light.

In Scandinavia the Winters are extremely long and dark; it is tradition to shine lights in house windows to welcome visitors and add warmth to the house. I found this carved wood light at a local Scandinavian gift shop and fell in love with it. It can be hung, by hook, in your front window.  It’s a beautiful addition for the holidays but can be kept up all year round. I’ll probably find a spot for it over my nativity scene for the holidays and keep it up well after the Christmas decorations are put away.

The maker of this light is light is Kron-Lume by Nordic Connection. Check out their selection of Nordic imports. This is a great find and will bring us happiness and a warm glow on a Cold and dark Wisconsin night. Enjoy! It’s this week’s Friday Favorite!
