I can’t believe it’s almost the end of October! Where has it gone? The nights are getting longer and the temps are getting colder. Winter is on its way, which is hard to believe! Wisconsin Winters are no joke. Lots of snow, sub-zero temps and very dark days. I wanted to share one of my new favorite items to help light up your house and welcome visitors during the darkest of days…. a Scandinavian welcome light.
In Scandinavia the Winters are extremely long and dark; it is tradition to shine lights in house windows to welcome visitors and add warmth to the house. I found this carved wood light at a local Scandinavian gift shop and fell in love with it. It can be hung, by hook, in your front window. It’s a beautiful addition for the holidays but can be kept up all year round. I’ll probably find a spot for it over my nativity scene for the holidays and keep it up well after the Christmas decorations are put away.
The maker of this light is light is Kron-Lume by Nordic Connection. Check out their selection of Nordic imports. This is a great find and will bring us happiness and a warm glow on a Cold and dark Wisconsin night. Enjoy! It’s this week’s Friday Favorite!
My #FridayFavorite this week: A Horoscope Sign Coffee Mug. I picked up this sweet mug at my favorite store, Homegoods! (I think I could live there; the addiction is real!) What’s my sign? I’m a Taurus baby. A true Taurus. Persistent, dependable, patient, generous and loyal. I’m a bull at times, stubborn and set in my ways. I hate change unless I’m the one doing the changing. This mug is totally me and I’m ready to share it with the world!
Circling the lip of the mug are the sign attributes and a gold foiled astrological sign is hiding at the bottom of the mug. Homegoods seemed to have all of the signs available in a couple of different colors and at only $4.99, I’m sure they won’t be around for long! This was an easy #FridayFavorite pick. Now time to make a cup of tea, enjoy!
I’m all about home décor and decorating but this week I have to pause and rave about a product I picked up a couple weeks ago. Pumpkin Spice Bee Bella’s Homemade Lip Balm. It is amazing and just the right flavor for Fall! And really, how can you decorate your house with chapped lips?
Bee Bella’s Homemade Lip Balm is made in my home state of Wisconsin. The company was started by three friends: Jon Dudzinski, James Wiciak and Scott Haskins. Their mission, “To raise awareness about the honey bee epidemic, incentivize others to become beekeepers, and to contribute to programs aimed at saving the honey bee by serving as a conduit between local beekeepers and discerning customers.”
The sustainably produced lip balm comes in three flavors: door county cherry, peppermint and pumpkin spice. They are packaged in a bamboo lipstick tube which you can be sent back to the company for refills. (Green, love it! ❤️)
I love getting behind local companies with a great mission. It’s Bee-utiful! (pun totally intended!) Checkout Bee Bella’s Homemade Lip Balm it’s this week’s #FridayFavorite!
This week’s #FridayFavorite is both cute and functional! I found this adorable Open Door Decor beanbag door stopper at a boutique in Door County, WI. (Vacation shopping trips are so much fun!) The boutique owner told me that these are by far her best seller. She just can’t keep them in stock. The coolest thing about these door stoppers, when they aren’t in use, they can be hung on the door handle. Super clever!
I found Pavilion Gift Company online and they have a ton of cute designs to choose from. My doorstop definitely fits our house, “Welcome to our loud crazy fun home“. We definitely fit that description —at least everyone but me. 🙂
Pavilion also has a nice selection of door draft stoppers with some fun sayings. I say check it out! It is this week’s House Fenway #FridayFavorite!
I couldn’t wait to share my #FridayFavorite this week, Farmhouse Candle Company soy warmer melts. I picked up a couple of scents to try in my electric warmer and I was not disappointed! If you want the yummy smell of Fall I highly recommend the Pumpkin Cupcake. It’s the perfect blend of vanilla and pumpkin without being overly sweet. I’ve burned through almost the whole pack in a week. It seems I just can’t get enough of it. I also picked up Stress Relief melts which I’m saving for the upcoming stressful holiday season. I’m sure I’ll need them!
Farmhouse Candle Company, based in Fort Atkinson, WI also sells jar candles and warmers. All of their products are made with soy wax which is free of stabilizers and dyes. And the best part of it all, a portion of each sale is donated to the Lewy Body Dementia Association to help fund research for a cure on behalf of the owner’s mother who passed this last June.
I highly recommend products from Farmhouse Candle Company . I love to support local and grassroot companies with a great mission. That’s why they are this week’s #FridayFavorite.
